Year 3 Camp Toolangi

On Monday November 24th, Level Three attended Camp Toolangi to experience an exciting taste of what it is like to go on camp. Each group participated in two activities that required problem-solving, teamwork and courage. Activities ranged from orienteering, possum glider, flying fox, crate stacking, hut building and many more!

The day finished with a beautiful lunch out in the sunshine, surrounded by calm nature before we boarded the bus to return to GWPS.

Here are what some of the Level Threes shared about their amazing experience:

Soha

The high ropes were a highlight because it made people believe in themselves and feel stronger. Everyone was cheering for each other which was upbeat. The obstacle course was really great too as we got to test out our strengths and do it all together. I am now looking forward to next year’s camp!

I enjoyed Camp Day because we got to do really fun activities! It was nice to sit on the benches and eat together. My favourite activity was the high ropes course. I like to climb and I felt really safe because they had the rope. It was cool when I was able to swing all the way down to the ground.

Iman

The zipline was my favourite because it was fast and long! The challenge was having to wear the harness which was really heavy and having to be connected to lots of different things. We had to help each other put it on so it was all about teamwork!

At camp, everyone was nervous but excited to find out their groups and begin the activities. Some highlights were the flying fox, where I was high in the air, and even let go with one hand to wave. We also built a hut out of logs, did crate stacking, and I joined a scavenger hunt where my group came first! Although we loved the flying fox, we didn’t enjoy losing our voices from screaming! Crate stacking and the photo hunt were fun too, even though the crates falling wasn’t great. The activities were hut building, flying fox, crate stacking, and scavenger hunts, which were exciting. A funny moment was when the bus driver said, “Six seven!”

Tanvi

In Camp, I enjoyed doing the activities. It was fun when we got to stack the crates. When it was my turn to go on them, I went on eight of the crates. We also did most of the maze and used all the obstacles; we also used sand to make them sturdier. My group was lucky enough to have three activities. Camp is like a big fun day!
