Learner Diversity

PSG Meetings

Thank you to the families who attended PSG meetings at the end of Term 1. It was wonderful to see the positive collaboration between families and teachers. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity to share student progress, discuss current goals, and plan next steps to best support each child’s learning and development.

Intervention

We have now started our intervention programs for Term 2, supporting students who need extra help with their reading. This year, we are continuing to implement the MultiLit programs — MiniLit Sage and MacqLit — which provide targeted, small group instruction to build students’ foundational reading skills. It’s been great to see students already engaging positively in their sessions as they build confidence and strengthen their reading.

  • MiniLit Sage: Students participating in MiniLit Sage are engaging in targeted small-group sessions designed to strengthen the foundational skills needed for reading and spelling. The program provides explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, systematic phonics, spelling, letter formation, and reading connected text. These structured sessions support students to build confidence and develop key literacy skills for classroom learning.
  • MacqLit: MacqLit is a structured, small-group reading program designed to support older students who need extra help with their reading. It provides explicit, step-by-step lessons covering key areas such as phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, helping students build confidence and strengthen their overall reading skills.
