Principals Message

Dear families,
Welcome back to Term Two. We hope you enjoyed a restful break and had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends.
It has been wonderful to see our students return so settled and ready to learn. With strong routines embedded in their daily lives at St Mary’s, students have been able to quickly transition back into the business of teaching and learning with confidence and focus.
We are very much looking forward to the unveiling of our beautiful school mural later this term and will share further details with you soon. The project continues to progress, with the painting now framed, digitized, and the steel mural currently being constructed. We are also proud to have formalised the Copyright Transfer, ensuring our students have ownership and autonomy over how their artwork is used into the future.
We are also excited to share that St Mary’s has been successful in receiving a Creative Arts Victoria Grant, announced by Jacinta Allan at the end of last term. This grant will support professional learning for our Performing Arts teacher and bring four Melbourne-based artists to work alongside our students over 20 weeks. Guided by an Artistic Director, students will collaborate with a puppeteer, musician, and visual artist to create a unique performance.
It promises to be another busy and enriching term, and we know our students will embrace every opportunity.
ANZAC DAY
As we approach ANZAC Day, we take time to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have served our country.
Mrs Fiske-Kealy will be proudly representing St Mary’s School at the ANZAC Day service and will lay a wreath in memory of our ANZACs on behalf of our school community.
The ANZAC March will depart from the Post Office at 9:30am, and we would love to see some of our students attend in full school uniform to support this special occasion. Students are warmly invited to join in representing our school as the wreath is laid.
We also understand that St Mary’s will be receiving a presentation from the community, and it would be wonderful for our students to be present as our representatives.
We encourage families to come along and support this very important and meaningful event.
