Visual Art

This term is flying along and we are having lots of fun in the Art Room as always!
Our Prep/1/2 students have finished their Yayoi Kusama pumpkin artworks, which look fantastic. They have enjoyed exploring colour, dots and lines to create striking pieces. Currently the students are working on posters for the Western Water poster competition. They have learnt about the effect of bold colour, minimal text and emotive images and how to use these elements to convey an important message.
3C, 4W and 4/5A have finished looking at the human form and the commonwealth games and came up with some fantastic foil sculptures. There were plenty of challenges in creating these sculptures but all the students used their resourcefulness to overcome these challenges. The Artwork was inspired by Alberto Giacometti.
5/6T have started a new project inspired by Banksy’s graffiti art, currently they are working on creating stencils to then create a final piece on a printed or painted background.
More exciting things to come in the weeks ahead!
