Vale Lynette Newman

Sadly, over the holidays Lynette Newman, wife of James Newman passed away. Lynette worked in the Bairnsdale Music Department for a number of years and has been a keen supporter of our program. She played baritone saxophone in the saxophone quartet, rehearsing every Friday morning with James, Cody and Emily, performing recently at a school soiree. She also stepped in several times to take photos at our concerts when our usual photographer was absent. Lynette has been a prominent musical figure in the district. Our thoughts are with James, his family and his students at this sad time.

Term 4

Term 4 is traditionally a very busy term in the music department, and this year is no exception. We would like to remind students and families that ensemble rehearsals and lessons are important as we prepare for all the performances ahead. Students should aim for some home practice as well. Remember, a little goes a long way when it comes to practice.
