BYOD @ ENPS

As many of our ENPS families are aware, and as shared in last year’s school newsletters, the Victorian Government introduced new policy in 2025 regarding schools’ use of digital technology, including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs. This policy focused on school expectations for devices and included reducing the amount of screen time across classrooms each week and how schools operated their BYOD programs.

In alignment with a recent update to this policy, all students who already take part in Essendon North Primary School’s BYOD program and have supplied their own iPad WILL now continue to use them as school devices in 2027. This includes all students starting Years Five and Six in 2027. Other year levels will have devices supplied to them by the school as needed.

This update recognises and helps address challenges faced by schools in regards to removing BYOD programs and the impact requiring schools to supply devices for all students on a short timeline moving forward.

As we transition towards the upcoming changes, we thank you again for your continued partnership to make digital learning purposeful, balanced, and supportive for all ENPS students. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
