Swimming Carnival

We are thrilled to announce the resounding success of our much-anticipated annual swimming carnival, which made waves as the most highly attended swimming carnival in recent years! Held on Tuesday 20th February at the Oak Park Swimming Pool, the event was a fantastic showcase of talent, teamwork, and spirited competition.  Students and staff embodied our college values of Respect, Growth, Belonging, and Understanding. From exhilarating swimming races, to captivating house competitions, the day was filled with moments of triumph and camaraderie, fostering a culture of inclusivity and mutual support.

Swimming Races: Making Waves of Excellence: The pool was alive with energy as our students dove into the swimming races with passion and determination.  They demonstrated the value of Growth through continuous improvement and dedication to honing their skills. Participants showcased their abilities across various events, from freestyle and butterfly, to backstroke and team relays, which also saw some of our CSC staff dive into the water!

House Competition: Ridley House Reigns Supreme: In the spirit of friendly rivalry, our four house teams – Ridley, Bridgewater, Hume, and Aitken – competed fiercely throughout the carnival, showcasing the value of Belonging as they proudly represented their houses. However, it was Ridley House that emerged as the undisputed champion, demonstrating outstanding teamwork, skill, and unwavering house spirit. Congratulations to all the members of Ridley House for their remarkable achievement!

Free Swim and Points Grab Competitions: Splashing Fun for All: Beyond the structured races, students also enjoyed the opportunity for leisurely swims during the free swim session, fostering a sense of Belonging as they relaxed and bonded with peers. It was heartening to see them engage in different activities, building friendships and creating lasting memories. Additionally, the points grab competitions added an extra layer of excitement, with students eagerly vying to collect points for their respective houses through various engaging challenges, promoting a sense of community and collaboration.

Celebrating Sportsmanship and Unity: More than just a showcase of athletic prowess, the swimming carnival exemplified the values of sportsmanship, unity, and inclusivity that define our college community. Whether they were racing against the clock or cheering on their peers from the sidelines, every student contributed to the vibrant tapestry of the event by demonstrating Respect, Growth, Belonging, and Understanding. The event was a testament to the power of teamwork, determination, and mutual support.  It was wonderful to see the culture of inclusivity and acceptance fostered on the day.

As we reflect on the success of the swimming carnival, let us celebrate not only the achievements of our students, but also the embodiment of our college values in action. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, organisers, and supporters. Your dedication and enthusiasm truly made a splash! Thank you helping reinforce the importance of Respect, Growth, Belonging, and Understanding in our college community.

Here is to another year of excitement, house spirit, unity, and memorable moments at Craigieburn Secondary College!
