SCIENCE WEEK – VCE, YEAR 9 AND YEAR 10

On Wednesday 20 August we honoured National Science Week and welcomed back four Frankston High School alumni who are making significant contributions across various scientific fields; 

  • Ajay Harikrishnan – Civil and Infrastructure Engineer

  • Tu'uhevaha Kaitu'u-Lino – Deputy Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, University of Melbourne

  • Mark Simpson – Accredited Exercise Physiologist & Managing Director, PACE Health Management and

  • Evatt Chirgwin – Senior Research Scientist, Cesar Australia

 

They generously shared their time and expertise with VCE students who are interested in a career in the sciences —offering practical advice, career insights, and a deeper understanding of the diverse opportunities within the sciences. 

 

Followed by a panel sessions to Year 9 and 10 students, giving them a glimpse into their roles, the projects they’re involved in, and how their work is helping people, the environment, and society at large.

ABOUT THE ALUMNI PROGRAM

Frankston High School is continuing to grow its alumni program in partnership with Ourschool, a not-for-profit alumni program for state secondary schools and the first of its kind in Australia. 

 

By connecting with the alumni program, past students can provide career guidance and work experience opportunities for current students, establish scholarships and bequests, or volunteer in lots of other ways. 

 

Ourschool is working with Frankston High to help these things happen by growing the school’s alumni community and co-ordinating the involvement of alumni in the school.
