Year Six Leading the Way

It has been another busy and engaging time in Year 6! In Reading, we have recently finished our class novels and have now begun exploring the wonderful world of poetry. Students are learning about different forms of poetry and experimenting with language, rhythm and creative expression as they develop their own poems.

In Mathematics, we have been investigating patterns and beginning to explore early algebra. Students have been looking for relationships, identifying rules and using their mathematical thinking to solve problems.

Our Inquiry learning has focused on the important work of aid agencies. Students have been researching different organisations, learning about the work they do to support communities around the world and considering the impact they have. They have enjoyed presenting their findings to the class and sharing their new knowledge with their peers.
