Year Four and so much More

Over the past fortnight, Year 4 have been learning about and writing poetry. We have explored a variety of poetic forms, including cinquain, haiku, spoonerism, shape and rhyming poems. The students began the unit by creating an acrostic poem using their names before experimenting with different styles and structures. Many students have thrived throughout this unit, demonstrating wonderful creativity and making thoughtful use of their growing knowledge of rich and descriptive language. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and enjoyment as they have developed their confidence as young poets.
