Home and School: Partners in Learning

Every child’s learning journey is strengthened when school and home work together. Parent partnership is not about becoming the teacher at home; rather, it is about creating positive habits and supporting their progress. Showing an interest in your child’s learning demonstrates that you care not only about what they are learning, but about them as a learner. Simple routines such as asking your child about what they are learning in class, practising key skills and supporting them to complete home learning activities, can help children develop organisation, persistence and independence. These everyday moments communicate an important message: learning matters, and we are in this together.

One of the most powerful ways families can support learning is through reading every day. Regular reading builds vocabulary, comprehension, background knowledge and communication skills, all of which influence learning across the curriculum. Just as importantly, reading helps children develop confidence as learners. Whether your child is reading independently, listening to a story, sharing a book with a family member or enjoying a favourite text together, making time for reading each day establishes a valuable lifelong habit.

Thank you for the important role you play in nurturing your child’s curiosity, confidence and love of learning.

Enjoy a Safe and Happy Break

As we approach the school holidays we wish all our families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable break. We hope you have the opportunity to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors and make the most of the longer, warmer days.

As we return for Term 4, please remember that students will be wearing their summer uniform, including their school hat. With the warmer weather starting to make an appearance, please ensure your child has their school hat each day and applies sunscreen before school. These simple habits help us keep our children safe, comfortable and ready to enjoy all that the warmer months bring.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4, refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning, connection and community. There is plenty to look forward to, and we can’t wait to see everyone return with enthusiasm and energy!
