STEM Report

Welcome back to another semester in the STEM room. I hope everyone had a restful break and enjoyed some time away with loved ones. This term will see a new round of topics and activities for students to explore, however our expectations and routines remain the same. We encourage all students to be ready for learning and embrace our school values of Respect, Cooperation and Learning. Creating a safe and happy classroom where people can learn and share together is our priority and we can all to do our bit help. Being kind, trying your best and never giving u is what we are looking for. Let's make it happen!
Check out below to see what each year level is up to this term...
Prep: Prep students will explore the Biological Science unit titled, "What do you need?". They will learn about the basic needs of plants/animals and investigate how habitats can provide shelter and nutrients for living things.
Grade 1/2: Students will explore the world of 'Movement' in this term's Physical Science unit. Students will learn how objects are influenced by forces acting on them and they will investigate how the size and shape of an object may change the way it moves.
Grade 3/4: This term, students will focus their attention on the Physical Science topic titled, 'May the Force be with you'. They will identify different types of forces and learn how different forces may oppose or work together. Students will investigate different forces in action and see first-hand how a force can influence the movement of an object.
Grade 5/6: This term, students in Grade 5/6 will be exploring the Chemical Science unit titled, 'What's the matter?'. They will identify the properties of different kinds of matter and use modelling to show the arrangement and behaviour of particles in solids, liquids and gases.
See you in the STEM room and don't forget to bring your curiosity!
