Term 3, 2026
After a fun filled and busy Term 2, we are back and excited to commence the new term in PE!
Grade Prep
Throughout term 3, our preps are going to explore and practice a wide range of fundamental movement skills such as underarm and overarm throwing, catching and rolling. The students will learn the correct way to perform these skills and implement them into small games. The prep students this term will also focus on being able to participate in games and activities safely and fairly with others.
Grade 1&2
Our Grade 1&2’s started the term off practicing their AFL skills by learning the tips and tricks on how to kick, mark and handball an AFL ball correctly. As the term continues, the Grade 1&2 classes will explore bouncing and how to alter their bounces to suit different sports and different types of balls. To conclude the term, the students are going to revisit their knowledge of Soccer to further develop their skills kicking, shooting, dribbling and working as a team.
Grade 3&4
Our Grade 3&4 students have commenced the term exploring their Tennis skills. Throughout their Tennis unit, students are going to practice and improve their serving and rallying techniques. Students are also introduced to the rules of Tennis and are provided with knowledge on how to enhance their Tennis games. Throughout the term, the students will also explore Cricket skills such as batting, bowling and fielding as well as also participating in lessons which explore AFL and its relative skills.
Grade 5&6
Our Grade 5&6 students have also begun the term exploring and practicing their tennis skills, focusing on the rules of tennis and how to maintain a consecutive rally. The Grade 5&6 students will then have the opportunity to participate in a two-week program delivered by Football Victoria. This will give students the opportunity to develop their Soccer skills from a trained coach, before they move on to explore Cricket and AFL towards the end of term.
Events
Throughout the term, students from Grades 3-6 will be able to have the opportunity to participate in a range of sports activities. These activities include the school’s athletics day, district athletics day, a rugby tag gala day and a 5/6 tennis day.
We have a jam-packed and exciting term ahead for PE and sports and can’t wait to get started!
