Alumni Inspire Students with Insights on Entrepreneurship and Business

We had the pleasure of welcoming two outstanding alumni from the Class of 2020, Andrew Nicolaou and Liam McGill this term to speak to our Year 10 Money and Markets classes and Year 11 Business Management students.

Best friends since Year 9, Andrew and Liam have taken their friendship a step further by launching a cleaning business together just a year and a half ago. Their paths since leaving school have been diverse — Liam pursued nursing at university, while Andrew studied banking, finance, and business. Despite their different academic backgrounds, their shared passion for entrepreneurship brought them together to build their business from the ground up.

During the session, Andrew and Liam spoke candidly about the challenges they’ve faced, what they enjoy most about running their business, and the strategies they’ve used to grow their company, including the power of networking and social media marketing. They also shared valuable lessons learned along the way, such as the importance of accepting rejection, making informed decisions, and working effectively as a team.

Their engaging stories and honest reflections captivated the students, sparking thoughtful questions and lively discussion throughout the session. Both Andrew and Liam expressed how much they enjoyed reconnecting with the school community and encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs.

We thank Andrew and Liam for sharing their journey and inspiring our students with real-world insights into business and entrepreneurship.
