NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. Students can support by exploring our growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island collection in biographiesnon-fiction and fiction.

CBCA Book Week 2025 - Book an Adventure!

Book Week is coming in Term 3 and we will be celebrating with lots of fun activities including author Jack Heath talking to our Junior School. Books by Jack and all of the books in the Older Readers shortlist for the Book of the Year award are available to borrow from the library.

Holiday Reads

The winter holidays are a great time to enjoy all the great resources the library has to offer. We encourage students to borrow from the library during this time and eBooks can be borrowed all through the holidays. Students go to https://gleneiracollege.wheelers.co/ and login with their EduPass login details to borrow.

Pride Month

We celebrated Pride Month with books!  We have a large collection of LGBTQIA+ books for young adults. Students can borrow from our library display or ask library staff.

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Challenge is now open until 5th September and Glen Eira College is excited to be participating. Students can check their Year Level Google Classrooms or pop into the library to find out more. To read the Premier’s letter to parents, view the booklist and for more information, visit https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge
