Numeracy Week – Numbers, Challenges and Fun!

Get ready to put your numeracy skills to the test! Next week, St Norbert College will be celebrating Numeracy Week, with a range of fun, interactive activities and competitions happening throughout the week.

Numeracy is about so much more than just numbers and calculations. It involves problem-solving, logical thinking, recognising patterns, making decisions and using mathematics in everyday life. Numeracy Week is a great opportunity for students to see these skills in action – and have a little fun along the way!

Throughout the week, students will have the chance to participate in a variety of challenges, competitions and activities, with prizes up for grabs. There will be opportunities for students of all year levels to get involved, whether they enjoy a mathematical challenge, have a competitive streak, or simply want to try something different.

Some of the activities planned include Pi eating competition, a Homeroom Maths Quiz, fun numeracy-themed games: Numero and Dots & Boxes, Guess the correct number of Jellybeans, and a Year 7 Times tables championship. Students will also encounter numeracy challenges in their regular Mathematics classes during the week.

Mathematics Workshops - Term 3

After-school math workshops provide a relaxed and encouraging environment where students can explore math in a way that's not possible during regular school hours. These sessions help students strengthen their skills, boost their confidence, and make learning math more enjoyable. By offering extra support, these workshops give students a great opportunity to succeed in maths, both in school and in the future.
