General News
A huge congratulations to our Girls Hockey Team for their outstanding success in winning the Girls Division Hockey competition! The team demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, and sportswomanship throughout the tournament, and we are incredibly proud of their achievement.
Our students participated in the Division Soccer Tournament today. It was fantastic to see them representing our school with enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork while enjoying the opportunity to compete against other schools.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Bunnings for their generous donation of materials to support our Grade 6 Worm Farm project. Their contribution has helped our students learn more about sustainability, composting, and caring for our environment through this hands-on learning experience.
New Discoveries
During Reading and Writing, we have been working on persuasive texts with a focus on equality for women. This has been a thoroughly engaging topic with many deep conversations that has led our staff to be very proud of the students. To coincide with this, we welcomed representatives from the AFLW Richmond Tigers to our school. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans and the scheduled outdoor activities were rained out; however, we were fortunate to spend time with the players with an engaging question-and-answer session. Students enjoyed hearing about life as an AFLW player, the importance of resilience and teamwork, and what it takes to perform at an elite level. Thank you to the Richmond Tigers for a memorable experience.
In Mathematics, we continued our Multiplication and Division unit, which will continue for the remainder of the term. The students enjoy learning with their peers at a level that best suits them.
For Topic, the students are completing a brochure and poster to inform the Grade 3/4 students about their chosen Asian country. This has been thought-provoking and engaging work, with students thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to research diverse cultures.
Warm regards,
The Grade 5/6 Team
