Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
This term, our Grade 3/4 students have been exploring Topic 2 of the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program, with a focus on Personal and Cultural Strengths.
Recently, students have been learning how to apply their strengths in a variety of situations. Through role-play activities, they became “respect advisors,” while whole class games helped them develop teamwork skills, explore ways to show respect in different contexts, and recognise the emotions associated with being treated respectfully.
Students have also reflected on the strengths they can draw upon to treat others with respect at school, in the playground, and at home. Key strengths identified by students included courage, fairness, kindness, determination, and leadership. It has been wonderful to see students collaborating and demonstrating these strengths throughout our sessions.
Over the past fortnight, Prep students have been revisiting our School Value of Being Respectful. Last week, we explored how we can show Respect by including others both in and out of the classroom. This week, we discussed the importance of sharing school resources and equiptment.
This term, Prep students have been continuing to work hard to earn Gugu stickers to help complete our class puzzle and work toward a classroom reward. Reccently, Prep Dunn got to bring a Teddy to school for the day, Prep Mortlock go to wear their Pyjamas to school and, Prep Greene chose a sweet treat!
We’re also proud to recognise some students who have consistently demonstrated our School Values. These students have now earned 25 Gugu stickers—an excellent achievement! Keep up the fantastic work!
EVENTS
Next week, the SRC are very excited to be holding their next fundraising event.
On Wednesday the 17th of June (Week 9), the SRC are holding a disco. This will occur during lunch and recess times.
Lunch will be for our junior students (Grades Prep to 2), and lunchtime will be dedicated to our senior students (Grades 3-6).
The SRC are committed to providing the fun and vibes; students are to bring the dance moves!
Entry is via a gold coin donation.
DECISIONS
Our SRC have come up with three brilliant ideas to spend their hard-earned funds on this year to help make our school an even more awesome place. They are currently encouraging each student from every class to vote for their favourite idea.
Each student is provided with a gold token that they can place in our voting tubes in the administration office. The SRC will then action the most popular choice.
- A mural for the shipping container at the top playground
- An outdoor, permanent table tennis table
- Pickleball set-up.
Thank you for all of your support!
