Leader of Year 8 Wellbeing
Mrs Rachel OÇonnor
As we reach the end of Term 3, I want to congratulate all of our Year 8 students on their hard work and dedication. They have officially wrapped up their final assessment tasks for the term, showing great commitment and perseverance across all their subjects. There have been plenty of outstanding results and personal bests and I am looking forward to seeing each student’s personal achievements throughout Term 4.
Looking ahead to next term, our focus will turn to community and giving back. We will be launching our annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. Throughout Term 4, student homerooms will collaborate and decide on their own unique fundraising activities to support families in need during the Christmas season. More details will be provided next term and any help or possible donations will be gratefully received.
I would also like to draw your attention to the College’s uniform policy. While the school break brings freedom from our usual routines, students should avoid haircuts, hair dyeing, or new piercings (especially upper cartilage or third earlobe piercings) that conflict with College standards. Any hair that does not meet College requirements must be rectified before the first day of term. New piercings should not be done during the break due to the required healing time, as students will be asked to remove any piercing that is not in the lower earlobe.
Most workplaces have dress codes, and part of our role is preparing students for the future, which includes maintaining appropriate personal grooming and appearance. Please support the College in upholding these standards so we can focus on positive interactions with students rather than enforcing compliance. I greatly appreciate your ongoing support.
Thank you to all families for your ongoing support throughout the term. We wish all students and families a safe, restful, and well deserved break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed for Term 4!
