Creative and Performing Arts
The Creative and Performing Arts Department has had an exceptional fortnight of celebration, talent, and community spirit. On 2 September we had our HSC Art Showcase Evening which was a standout event — a vibrant display of imagination, technical skill, and the courageous storytelling of our Year 12 Visual Arts students. Their works transformed the Learning Centre into a gallery of colour, texture, and deeply personal ideas, and we congratulate each student on completing their HSC body of work with such professionalism and pride.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff, families, and friends who joined us to support and celebrate these talented young artists. We also extend our appreciation to Mrs Leonard and our musicians, whose performances added a sophisticated and welcoming ambience throughout the evening.
Year 9 Art Mural
Our Year 9 Visual Arts students brought colour, creativity, and community spirit to the centre of the College last week as they collaborated on a large‑scale temporary chalk mural to celebrate and encourage our Year 12 cohort.
Working together across classes, students designed a vibrant artwork featuring symbols of learning and growth, infused with a sense of fun and positivity. Their mural proudly shares a heartfelt “Good Luck” message, surrounded by illustrations representing curiosity, imagination, and the journey toward graduation.
The mural has quickly become a joyful focal point of the College grounds, reminding our Year 12s that the whole school community is behind them.
Thank you Year 9 Art students!
Art reaching the Community
Over the weekend, our students’ artwork continued to inspire the wider community. A curated selection of pieces from our Year 7, 8 and 9 students was displayed in the church foyer for parish Masses, marking the beginning of the Season of Creation. The theme, Living Water, was beautifully reflected in the students’ visual responses, offering parishioners a moment of reflection and gratitude. A special sign accompanied the display, acknowledging the students’ contribution and connecting their creativity to this important liturgical season.
Performing Arts
Our Performing Arts students have also shone brightly, with HSC Drama and Dance nominations recognising outstanding achievement, dedication, and performance excellence. These nominations highlight the depth of talent within our CAPA cohort and the countless hours of rehearsal, collaboration, and creative risk‑taking that our students embrace.
Congratulations to the following DANCE students for nominations in CALLBACK!
Congratulations to the following DRAMA students for nominations in ONSTAGE! We are so proud of you all!
Together, these events reflect the spirit of St Aloysius College — a place where creativity is nurtured, celebrated, and shared. Congratulations to all students involved across Visual Arts, Drama, and Dance. Your work continues to inspire us.
