Maths Report

Here are some further results from our Maths Extension Program for 2026.

 

1. Computational Algorithmic and Thinking Competition.  

Our thanks and recognition to the 170 students who sat for this year’s CAT.  This is a 60-minute clear thinking activity completed online under exam conditions.

2. Maths Challenge.  

This is a three-week problem-solving activity completed both in class and at home.  Again – congratulations to all the 260 participants in Years 7-10.

3. University of Melbourne School Mathematics Competition

This is a demanding 2–3-hour competition aimed at challenging our best and brightest students.  University High School remains one of the very few non-selective government schools to have students recognized and this year continues our strong showing across the state.  My thanks to the 22 students who undertook this activity and congratulations to the following two students;

4. University of Melbourne School Maths Olympics

This event is held annually during the UoM Open Day at the Parkville Campus.  Unihigh has fielded a team each year and although not winning this year, five Year 12 students were wonderful ambassadors for us on the day.
