Foundation News

Last Wednesday we were delighted to welcome our Foundation students to school for their first Wednesday together, which means there are no more rest days! It has been wonderful to see the children settling into their learning and becoming more confident in their classroom routines.

In Literacy, we have begun exploring our first set of sounds and their characters. The students were very excited to learn about the sounds /m/, /s/ and /t/ and have been enjoying activities that help them recognise and use these sounds.

In Maths, we have been practising counting from 0–5 in a variety of fun ways. It has been a joy to see the students’ enthusiasm growing as they build their essential numeracy skills.

A big well done to the students who are bringing their reading diaries to school each day. It is wonderful to see so many families enjoying books together at home. The students love talking about the stories they have read with their teacher.

A friendly reminder for families that if you arrive at school before 8:30am, please ensure your child goes to the school office, as classrooms are not open and supervision does not begin until 8:30am.

Important Dates to Remember

Friday 20th March – Ride to School Day Students are encouraged to ride, scoot, skate or walk to school if they can.

On the same evening, we will also be hosting our Food Truck Night. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet and connect with other families in our school community.

Tuesday 24th March – School Photos Please ensure students are wearing the correct school uniform. Yellow shirt and Grey short or school dress and Black school shoes.

Kind regards,
