"Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me..." — From St. Patrick's Breastplate
Dear Parents,
Today we acknowledge St. Patrick and remember that before the boundaries of our parish changed, we were part of St. Patrick's Parish. Today our united parishes are called Christ the King Catholic Parish. We remember St. Patrick from Ireland as a wonderful teacher who amongst other things used a clover to teach about the Trinity. A Happy St. Patrick's Day to all.
We invite you to participate in a very important survey, the Enhancing Catholic School Identity (ECSI) project survey. The ECSI survey is designed to capture a snapshot of the attitudes among students, teachers, staff, leaders and families towards the foundations for Catholic School identity.
The purpose of this survey research is to gain meaningful insights into how your son or daughter’s school views its Catholic identity today and how this identity might be shaped for tomorrow. We would greatly appreciate as many parents as possible completing this survey. A letter with details of completing the survey will follow.
We value your input which will be used to shape our school as we move forward.
Thank you for your constant support and interest in ensuring our school is the best we can be in all realms.
Friday Night Food Truck Night.
We remind families that the Food truck night is this Friday beginning at 5.00pm and ending at 8.00pm.
Last year was our first year of running this event and it proved to be a fabulous gathering of families and a strong community builder. Come along and join us, bring a picnic tea or purchase from the food trucks, meet the families of your child's friends and enjoy a simple fuss free night.
Harmony Day
Our Social Justice Student Leaders have visited each class encouraging us to wear a touch, splash or complete outfit in orange this Thursday to mark Harmony Day.
During the day students will be invited at recess and lunch to draw their face on our ‘Everyone Belongs’ St Bernard’s Banner, which will be situated outside the Hall undercover.
The theme of Harmony Week invites us to value cultural diversity and encourage a sense of belonging for all those in our community. This sense of belonging flourishes when we show kindness and respect as we learn and live together. In our classrooms we encourage courtesy in the way we speak to each other, which includes using each other’s names and ‘please’ and ‘thank you’.
Friday Ride to School Day.
The annual Ride to school Day is this Friday, children can ride, scoot, or walk their way to school. It's all about being safe and active on our way to school. Sports Captains will support Mr. Nolan on Friday morning ensuring that children receive a piece of fruit and go into the draw for a prize related to riding to school. This day enhances the learning completed during the week for Bike Ed during the children's sport sessions.
Have a great week
