Grade 2 News

Our Grade 2 students have been working hard across all learning areas over the past few weeks.
In Mathematics, we have been finishing our unit on time. You can continue practising time at home. We are now beginning a new focus on addition and subtraction, where students will develop strategies to solve number problems and explain their thinking.
In Writing, we are focusing on recount writing. Students are learning how to write about events in the order they happened. They have been practising this by writing recounts about personal experiences as well as events from short films we watch together.
During Reading, we are continuing to build our reading fluency. Students are practising reading smoothly, with expression, and at an appropriate pace to help strengthen their understanding of texts.
In Spelling, we are focusing on some new tricky words; caught, why, and people.
These words can be challenging, so we encourage practising them at home.
We would also like to invite families to our Grade 2 Liturgy on Wednesday 25 March, 12:30–1:00pm. We look forward to sharing this special time together.
Thank you for your continued support.
