Cookin' in the Kitchen

Year 12 Ration Challenge
The Unit 4 Food Studies are learning about food security and completed a ration challenge mystery box to learn about people at risk of food insecurity. The students were creative with the limited ingredients available.
Cook Off Comp!
Today the Year 12 Food Studies students Summer Bogdan, Mia Dimento and Emily Gough competed in the annual 'Cook Off' against their teacher Ms Molina. An ingredients mystery box was unveiled at 8.30am. Then they had 40 minutes over lunchtime (with an enthusiastic audience) to produce a meal of their choice.
The judges were former student Shylo Lowthian (Class of 2024), current Year 12 student Poppy Davey and Linda Brown. They tasted and deliberated over three savoury dishes and one sweet dish.
Thanks to new Food Tech assistant Candice Molnar for preparing the ingredients and to all participants.
Congratulations to Ms Tess Molina who took out the honours, even though the toasted pumpkin seeds didn't make it onto the plate!
