In celebration of our 70th anniversary
In the late 1970s, the foundations of our school orchestra was laid.
The then Mentone Girls’ High School began appointing more instrumental music teachers and students were able to study woodwind, string and brass instruments. Fortunately, the music domain has continued to grow and our College boasts a fine tradition as a discrete subject offering. Our musical reputation is enhanced by, performances in the choral and instrumental areas which showcase the students' talent internally at assemblies, and on a larger scale outside the College.
In the previous century, we started conducting Music Camps which occur once per year at a venue on the outskirts of Melbourne, and students speak fondly of this, sharing photos of their experience with the rest of the College community.
