Art News

What is art? Is it a painting hanging in a gallery? A colourful drawing? A sculpture, a photograph, a song—or perhaps something completely unexpected?
Art is a way of sharing ideas, feelings, stories and imagination. It can be created with paint, pencils, clay, paper, technology, found objects and many other materials. There are no limits to what art can be or how it can make us think and feel.
But what do our students think art is?
We asked our young artists to share their ideas, and their answers reminded us that art can mean something different to everyone. From drawing and painting to creating, experimenting and expressing themselves, our students showed that art is not just something we look at—it is something we experience, imagine and make.
“Art is…” What do you think?
