Expo Tabloid Sports Day
Wow! What a fantastic time we had last week at the 3/4 Expo Tabloid Sports Day. Throughout the day, students were engaged in 10 different activities, including parachute games, tug-of-war, relay races, soccer and rubber chicken throwing! Students also competed against, and with, other schools in Tunnel Ball, Captain Ball and Corner Spry. They demonstrated both great sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the day, with a UYSC Year 7 helper even telling us they were 'the best listeners we've had all day'! Â đ
Maths - Multiplication and Division
In mathematics, the last few weeks, 3/4 have focused on multiplication and division. Students have put their increased fluency of multiplication facts (times tables) into practice, solving a range of worded problems and developing their ability to use the vertical algorithm written strategy. Although these strategies can be tricky at times, the students have demonstrated great persistence. Have a look at some of this work!
Inquiry - Monday's Excursion
Just a reminder: on Monday, as part of our Humanities unit "First Contacts", students in Years 3/4 will visit the Lilydale Museum, where we will participate in a program called 'First Contacts and Reshaping a New Land' followed by a walking tour around some of the historical sites in Lilydale. The bus will depart promptly at 9:15 am and return by 3:00 pm. Students are reminded to wear their full school uniform, including sunscreen, and bring a small backpack with snacks, lunch, a full water bottle, sunscreen and raincoat.
