News from the Deputy Principal

PARENTS AND FRIENDS COMMITTEE

Dear Parent and Carers,

The St Joseph’s Parents and Friends Committee has always been an engaged and committed group of parents who have played an important role in our school community.

The Committee has been the driving force behind many successful fundraising initiatives, including the Colour Run and playground upgrades, while also creating wonderful opportunities for our children and families to come together and enjoy activities such as whole-school discos, excursions, trivia nights and special events.

Without an active Parents and Friends Committee and the support of parent volunteers to organise and run these events, many of these wonderful opportunities may not continue. This includes much-loved events such as the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, discos, trivia nights and other activities that have taken place in past years.

We would love to see the Committee come together again so we can continue creating these special experiences for our children and families, while also supporting our school and strengthening our sense of community.

You don’t have to commit to everything! We would love you to come along, share your ideas and help with some or all of the events — whatever works for you. Whether you can help regularly or just lend a hand at the occasional event, every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

Next Friday at 9:00 am, on the 18th September 2026, a few interested parents will meet to discuss restarting the Parents and Friends Committee. We will discuss possible events, roles, and ways we can work together to engage the wider school community in whole-school activities.

Everyone is welcome, and we would love to see both familiar and new faces join us as we work together to make the most of the opportunities available to our children and families.

If you are interested in coming along, please reply to the email sent earlier this week to register.

I am looking forward to seeing you there!

PSG Meetings

Thank you to all the families who have met with the class teachers and me this week.

These meetings are always a valuable opportunity to celebrate our students' achievements and progress, while also acknowledging the areas and directions that will support their continued learning and growth.

It is amazing to see how much change and progress can occur within just one term!

If you have not yet received an email from me with the meeting minutes, these will be sent out next week. Please keep an eye on your inbox.

Thank you again for your time, support and partnership in your child’s learning journey.

I wish each and every one at St Joseph's a very happy and restful holiday, where I hope that you all get to experience some sunshine and have the opportunity to get away for a few days.

5/6 CAMP 2027

We are very excited to have secured the 5/6 camp at CYC The Island for 2027.  This camp is a very early camp for the year and will take place on Monday 1st February until Wednesday 3rd February.

Over the holidays or early next term, families will receive information from the camp to complete, such as dietary information.

Over the holidays, please take some time to check in on your emails in case one appears from the camp.  Also, take some time to check that all NFORMA details are up to date, including swimming ability, medications, Medicare and health insurance details etc

We hope your holidays are safe and that we see you all back here again in Term 3!

Kind Regards,
