Wellbeing update

Term 3 Wellbeing Update
Staffing:
A warm welcome to Grace Paine, who has joined our team for Term 3, providing counselling, warmth and a safe space for our students. We're excited to have Grace with us and look forward to working together this term. We’re also very pleased to welcome back Giovanna Barulli who is returning for Term 3 with all her wisdom, humour and joy! Giovanna is also available for counselling appointments and will be running a girls' group alongside Liz.
Clubs Highlights:
For Wellbeing Wednesday this term so far we have enjoyed a gorgeous session of water colouring thanks to Mr Henson and the art department, as well as stress ball making with rice and balloons – which hopefully have come in handy for any of those students needing to vent their frustrations in healthier ways! Exam time is right around the corner, so we encourage you to continue balancing your school-study-social-sleep-sports-jobs well so you can give it your best effort.
We have also had more fabulous Culture Club gatherings this term, facilitated by our very own Giovanna who was able to share about her home nation of Italy. Students and staff were treated to some Italian snacks, language and culture as we soaked in Giovanna’s experiences growing up and studying in Italy. Thank you for sharing, Giovanna! Or should we say, grazie per la condivisione!
Earlier in the term, we were also led through a traditional Japanese tea ceremony by Japanese Language assistant Aya. Students performed the centuries old ceremony before drinking the green matcha tea. A big thank you to Aya Fleischer and International Captain, Hailey Santos.
The Wellbeing team runs these clubs and events throughout the week:
Study and Snack: Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 3.00pm – 4.00pm in A5
Breakfast Club: Wednesdays 8.15am – 8.40am in Food Tech
Wellbeing Wednesday: Wednesday lunchtime in Wellbeing Space
Culture Club: Every second Thursday lunchtime in A5
Introducing…
Good Vibes, Good Friends Group for Year 9 Girls
This new program aims to build better connections, grow in respect and understanding for each other and ways to choose kindness in our choices every day – even when it’s tough! The group begins August 19 in period 2 and will run for four weeks. The group will enjoy snacks, fun activities and plenty of opportunities to connect and make new friends. Thanks to Liz and Giovanna for putting this program together.
