Welcome New Staff

We have 2 new woodwind teachers who will be replacing Bronwyn Ventura – Cheryl Morrow, who will be mainly working with our rookie students on Tuesdays, and Kevin Woodhouse, who will work with our more advanced students and the LHS Band. We thank Craig Harrison for stepping in with woodwind lessons during the term.

Grade 6 Information Evening

The LHS Band didn’t let a little rain spoil their first public performance for the year, entertaining prospective LHS families as they arrived at school for the information evening.

It was great to see the kids ‘back in black’ and they sounded fantastic! HSD rock band (Hermione, Sigourney and Declan) and our woodwind trio (Hue and Isla) also performed during the evening and truly represented the calibre of the Instrumental Music department.

Victoria Road Primary School Fete

Congratulations ABC (Ari, Ben and Callum) and ROOM2 (Charlie, Chase, Reed and Brady) on your performances at the VRPS fete last Sunday. It’s wonderful to see our bands out in the community, representing LHS.

Rhythms and Riffs

April 3

Thursday lunchtime entertainment on the PAC Deck with Damien (guitar teacher), Mr Winter (brass teacher), Ari and Corey (electric guitar), Chase and Tallyn (bass guitar), and Ki (drums).

Shout out to Tallyn for his harmonica improv, too!

Battle of the Bands

LHS Battle of the Bands is back next term so get your groups together and start practicing!

A link to your demo video must be uploaded to the Google Form by the end of Week 5 next term (May 23).

Heats will be held in Week 7 and Week 8 with the Grand final on Friday June 27.

Please note the following information:

Bands need to have a minimum of 3 members
Bands do not need to have vocals
All genres welcome
Songs can be covers or originals
If you make it through, a different song must be played for heats and finals

ROOM2, HSD, Infinite Static, Bald Dog Rock bands - Various days with Ms Goode, Mr Schoof, Mr Colussi and Damien

We still have a handful of places available in flute, clarinet and saxophone. Lessons on these instruments are FREE so if you would like a trial, please register your interest here;
