Year 5 Update

It has been a busy and rewarding few weeks in Year 5, and we are excited to share some important updates, celebrations and upcoming events with you.
✅ Positive Behaviour Update
Two weeks ago, communication was shared with families regarding concerns around behaviour and the importance of upholding our school values of Kindness, Respect and Resilience.
We are incredibly pleased to share that we have seen a dramatic improvement in student behaviour across Year 5. The majority of students have demonstrated a renewed commitment to making positive choices, showing respect towards staff and peers, and contributing to a safe and supportive learning environment.
We would like to sincerely thank our families for your support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Your partnership plays a vital role in ensuring consistency between school and home. We are also very proud of our students for responding so positively and making such thoughtful changes to their behaviour.
We look forward to continuing to build on this momentum and celebrating the many students who consistently demonstrate our school values each and every day, setting themselves up for continued success.
🏕️ Year 5 Camp – Sovereign Hill
Excitement is building as we prepare for our upcoming Year 5 overnight camp to Sovereign Hill!
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in a rich, hands-on learning experience that brings our Gold Rush History unit to life. Through immersive activities such as “Put Yourself in the Eureka Story”, mine tours, gold pouring demonstrations, and the AURA night show, students will deepen their understanding of life on the goldfields and the events surrounding the Eureka Rebellion.
🗓 Camp Dates:Wednesday 3rd June – Thursday 4th June
⏰ Departure: Arrive at school before 7:00am (meet in the Gym)⏰ Return: Approximately 5:45pm on Thursday
🍎 Food:Students must bring their own snack and lunch for Day 1. All other meals are provided.

We are incredibly excited for this special milestone, particularly as it is the first time Year 5 students will experience this overnight camp. It is sure to be a memorable and valuable learning experience that students will carry with them beyond the classroom, supporting their growth as confident and engaged learners.
