Congratulations to the following students
Jessica Hu (Year 8), who has been crowned the Under‑18 Junior Blitz Chess Champion in the southern section of the statewide Junior Blitz Championships. Run annually by Black Square Chess, this event showcases fast‑paced competitive play and provides an important pathway for young Tasmanian players to gain valuable tournament experience. Well done, Jessica. This achievement is a wonderful reflection of your dedication, discipline and the strong chess skills you’ve worked so hard to develop.

Zoe Hanlon (Year 7), who has been selected to compete at two major national tennis events. Zoe set off for Canberra on Monday to represent Tasmania at the 14/U Clay Court Nationals, and on Friday 1 May she will travel to Western Australia to compete in the prestigious 18/U Pizzey Cup. Well done, Zoe, and good luck in the tournaments!
