As we reflect on the conclusion of Term 1, I would like to acknowledge the outstanding commitment shown by our students, staff and families in supporting Project Compassion. Throughout Lent, our College community has once again demonstrated generosity and compassion, raising funds to support the vital work of Caritas Australia and its mission to assist vulnerable communities around the world. This work is a strong expression of our Presentation values in action and a clear reminder of the impact we can have when we work together for the common good.

Term 2 begins with important moments of reflection and community connection. We will honour ANZAC Day, acknowledging the courage, sacrifice and service of those who have served our nation. Very quickly after, we look forward to celebrating our community through the Mother’s Day Breakfast on Wednesday 6 May, a much‑loved event on the College calendar. From Monday 11 May, the College will be buzzing with energy as we celebrate House Spirit Week. This exciting week will include a variety of activities that support our House system, build community spirit and culminate in the whole‑school Cross Country on Wednesday 13 May. We look forward to seeing students embrace participation, teamwork and House pride.
At the Mother’s Day Breakfast, our Year 12 students will also launch their major fundraising raffle, with all proceeds supporting Endometriosis Australia. This important cause has been chosen by the Year 12 cohort, and we commend them for their leadership, advocacy and commitment to raising awareness and funds for such a significant health issue.
As the term progresses, we move quickly into a busy and productive period, including Learning Conferences, camps, the Year 9–12 Careers Expo, and later in the term, preparations for semester examinations. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for learning, growth and reflection across all year levels.
I would like to thank our wider College community for your continued support and partnership. Your involvement plays an essential role in the life of St Mary’s College. I wish everyone a restful and restorative term break and look forward to another engaging term ahead.
