Players for Pink Netball Match
On Friday 4 September, student leaders from Loreto College and St Patrick’s College joined forces for a friendly netball match against student leaders from Damascus College.
Held to mark the culmination of Health Week, the match brought students from all three schools together to promote breast cancer awareness.
The game was played in great spirit, with plenty of fun and good sportsmanship on display. Congratulations to Damascus College, who were the overall winners.
It was a great way to round out Health Week while supporting an important cause.
Father's Day Celebrations
On Wednesday 2 September, we welcomed fathers, grandfathers and special people in our students’ lives to Loreto College Ballarat for our Father’s Day Liturgy and Breakfast.
It was wonderful to see so many members of our College community come together to share the morning and celebrate the important role these special people play in the lives of our students.
We hope all the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our Loreto Community had a very happy Father’s Day.
Year 10 Mary Ward Connect
This year for Mary Ward Connect, we visited Loreto Kirribilli in Sydney and Loreto Marryatville in Adelaide from 28 - 31 July.
Mary Ward Connect is a wonderful way of connecting with our Australian Loreto network, with Year 10 students visiting each school, as well as welcoming students from interstate here in Ballarat.
It’s always lovely to see new friendships form as students connect through our shared values, experiences and the opportunity to travel interstate.

The Mary Ward Connect visit to Loreto Marryatville in Adelaide was a very valuable and memorable experience. During our time there, we discovered there were many similarities and differences between our schools, but the most important similarity was our shared Loreto values. This reminded us that, although our schools may be different, we are all part of one Loreto community.
Throughout the four days, we each had a buddy from Loreto Marryatville, who we spent time with each day. We also had the opportunity to connect with girls from Loreto Kirribilli in Sydney, who were also visiting Adelaide. This gave us the chance to meet new people and form valuable friendships. We participated in a range of activities including a video call with students from all the Loreto schools in Australia as well as exploring the Adelaide CBD with our buddies, which allowed us to spend more time together while experiencing the city.
Through this experience, I learnt that although Loreto schools are located all across Australia and may have many differences, we are all connected through our shared Loreto identity and values. The trip showed me how strong and connected the Loreto community is and highlighted the bond we all share. It was an experience that allowed me to meet new people, create friendships, and feel more connected to the wider Loreto community.
Year 7 Movie Night
On Monday 24 August, our Year 7 students enjoyed a fun evening together at the Year 7 Movie Night! It was a great opportunity for students to spend time with friends, relax, and enjoy a movie together as a year level, supported by our Senate.
