Dear BRPS Community,

Our latest School Council meeting was held held on Thursday 14th August, 2025.

President Laura Anderson opened the meeting with the acknowledgment of the Traditional Custodians of the land, prior to the discussion of agenda items.

The agenda for this meeting was brief, with key updates including:

Letter of Appreciation to Black Rock Primary School - Principal  Mr Sam Tyndall and Assistant Principal Ms Emily Harvey to acknowledge Principal’s Day 2025

On behalf of the School Council and wider school community, we wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your tireless leadership, dedication, and commitment to Black Rock Primary School on Principal’s Day.

Your vision and unwavering support for our school community have fostered an environment where both students and staff are empowered to achieve their best. We are particularly grateful for your efforts in enhancing academic outcomes, student well-being programs and student engagement.

Our school community recognises the significant role you both play in setting high expectations and shaping the way for our teachers and students to learn and succeed. Your passion for education, your thoughtful decision-making, and your unwavering belief in our students and staff are truly valued.

Thank you for all that you do.  We look forward to your continued contributions and support of Black Rock Primary School.

Community Engagement & Events (CEET)/Fundraising: Cass Morgan

  • As a response to the cancellation of the parent social event, the CEET would like to reach out to the community to find out what would create the ‘buy in’ to Events such as these in the future. For example, do they prefer student fundraisers?
  • This would be done through a survey in Term 4 to assist with 2026 planning.
  • Our goal is to connect our community.
  • The CEET wants to inform the community that we can host a range of events at different times of the year.
  • For the remainder of 2025 the CEET will focus on two events:
    • The Moonlight Cinema - Fri 24th July
    • Christmas Carols/Picnic event - date TBC.
  • Laura extended her thanks to those who purchased social tickets and provided generous donations.
