The 2025 Concert, "Dancing Through the Decades", is upon us. After our whole-school rehearsal this week, excitement has reached a peak for our biggest event of the year.

Year 11990’s - Hip Hop and boy bands
Year 21980’s - Pop and Breakdance
Year 3 1970’s - Disco Fever
Year 41950’s - Rock and Roll & Hand Jive
Year 52000’s - Modern Pop
Year 6 2020’s - Modern Dance

Please take the time to review the previous concert notifications to ensure everyone is 'performance ready' for tomorrow.

Students received event programs today and there will be a small number of spares available at the show tomorrow evening.

Staff Updates

Towards the end of this term we farewell Nicole Large as she will be taking leave to commence the exciting journey of starting her own family. Nicole is our current Disability and Inclusion Leader, as well as a specialist in reading intervention, both roles in which she has excelled at - providing high impact support to many students and their families throughout the school.

We wish Nicole all the best at this special time in her life.

2026 Class Planning

If your child will not be attending BRPS in 2026, please notify the Administration Office as soon as possible. This information is important for our planning of classroom structures for next year.

2025 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey

The 2025 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey will be emailed to all families on Monday, 1 September 2025, and will be open for completion online until Friday, 19 September 2025.

The survey invites feedback on:

  • School climate

  • Community engagement in learning

  • Teaching practices for student engagement and outcomes

  • Attitudes towards school attendance

Your opinions are important to us. They will help identify areas for improvement, inform professional development needs, and guide school planning and improvement strategies. The Department will also use the results for research purposes to improve outcomes for students. The survey is anonymous, and we encourage you to respond as honestly as possible. We would greatly appreciate your participation by Friday, 19 September 2025.

Road Safety Around Our School

A BRPS parent has passed on our concern for a dangerous and unsafe practise occurring at the back gate (Ferguson/Bayview streets gate), where parents are stopping to pick up their children in the no stopping area. It's reported that parents in their cars are pulling into the no stopping area, often in front of other children trying to cross the street. This is not only creating unnecessary traffic congestion as other cars can't get by, but more to the point an unsafe and dangerous situation for children and others around them.

I am requesting that all parents drive slowly and with extreme caution around the school, obeying all traffic signs and directions at all times. Thank you for your support in keeping all members of our school community safe.

Book Week 2025

"Book an Adventure!"

The theme for Book Week this year was "Book an Adventure. When we think about adventure, we often picture climbing mountains, exploring jungles, or sailing across the ocean. But the wonderful thing about books is that they allow us to go on adventures anytime, anywhere. Every time you open a book, you step into a new world — you might solve mysteries with detectives, travel through space, dive deep under the sea, or walk alongside heroes and explorers.

Books are more than just words on a page. They let us feel courage, curiosity, and wonder. They help us imagine what is possible and remind us that every adventure starts with turning the first page.

There were many adventurous costumes and flashes of colour as students and teachers joined in the excitement of the Book Week Parade at assembly last Friday.

Guest Author - Stephanie Boag

I would like to thank our special guest author, our very own Stephanie Boag (mum of Alice in Foundation), who visited on Thursday morning to read her recently published children’s book, Sticky Pineapple and the Little Precious Gems: How I Came Into This World, to our Foundation, Year One, and Year Two students. Stephanie’s book has been recognised in a worldwide Story Monsters Purple Dragonfly Book Awards receiving honourable mentions in three categories: Family Matters, Children’s Non-fiction and First Time Author!

Stephanie’s beautifully illustrated story offers a gentle, imaginative explanation of how two little girls came into the world via in‑vitro fertilisation (IVF) - a tender tale that began with a meaningful bedtime question: “Mummy, how did I come into this world? Did I come out of your tummy?”

Our students were fascinated and asked many enaging questions.

Term 3 Activities and Events

Although the 2025 Concert has been a major focus for this term, the final three weeks after the concert offer a full calendar of co- and extra-curricular events, including:

  • District Athletics Carnival
  • Year 5/6 Bike Education
  • Year 1/2 Swimming Program
  • Year 4 Camp
  • Footy Colours Day (now last day of Term 3)

Please continue to use the Compass Calendar and News Feed updates for information about events and activities around the school.

Accessibility Ramps

Despite the delays, the final stage of the accessibility project is underway. We hope the ramp into the Foundation playground and the front gate is complete before we wrap up the term and we have a temporary fence-free remainder fo the year!

We look forward to seeing everyone at one of the big performances tomorrow!
