Title: Proudly supporting Bullying No Way: National week of action
This year Stella Maris will be participating in the Bullying No Way: National week of action, 17 to 21 August 2026.
Bullying No Way Week is a commitment being made by thousands of schools and supporters across the country. It provides an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to bullying prevention. It gives us an opportunity to connect with students, staff and school communities to implement workable solutions to prevent bullying.
The theme for this year's campaign is Small Acts, Big Impact.
It takes a community to address bullying behaviours, within and beyond the school gate.
Students can make a big impact through small acts of kindness and support for others being bullied. Trusted adults are there to guide children and young people as they learn how small, thoughtful actions can create a positive difference and encourage reporting of bullying.
This Bullying No Way Week, we’re encouraging you to embrace the theme Small Acts, Big Impact. Show kindness, support others and take meaningful steps to stand up against bullying.
For more information about Bullying No Way Week and bullying prevention, visit the Bullying No Way website (see below).
During the week, we will engage students in meaningful discussions and activities that highlight how small actions can create a big impact. We encourage families to use this time to have open and supportive conversations with their children about recognising bullying, its effects, and ways they can make a positive difference.
Anti-Bullying Week – Wear a Touch of Purple
As part of Anti-Bullying Week, we are inviting students to show their support by wearing a touch of purple on Thursday 20 August.
Just a reminder that students are required to wear their full school uniform, with a small splash of purple to celebrate the week. This could be something as simple as a purple ribbon, purple scarf, hair accessory or another small purple item.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together and promote the important message of kindness, respect, inclusion and standing up for others.
We look forward to seeing our school community proudly wearing a touch of purple!
SRC Student-Led Lunchtime Club-Basketball
Our Student Representative Council (SRC) have once again demonstrated wonderful student leadership by identifying an opportunity to introduce another lunchtime club for our students.
The SRC surveyed their classes to find out which additional lunchtime club students would most like to see offered at school. Students were able to choose from a range of options, including Basketball Club, Garden Club, Science Club, Running Club and Glee Club.
Once the surveys were completed, the SRC worked together to collect, sort and analyse the data. The results were in — Basketball Club was the clear favourite across Prep–Year 6!
The new Basketball Club will be held on Fridays at lunchtime, giving students another opportunity to get active, have fun and connect with their peers.
A huge thank you to our amazing SRC team for leading this initiative from start to finish. Our students were involved in developing the questionnaire, collecting responses, sorting and analysing the data, and now organising the new club. It has been fantastic to see our students taking ownership and turning their ideas into action.
We look forward to seeing another wonderful student-led initiative come to life at Stella Maris!
Stella Maris Choir
We extend our thanks to all of the children who sang so beautifully in the choir for our Confirmation celebration. Your joyful voices helped create a prayerful and uplifting atmosphere, making the celebration even more special. We are so grateful for your time, commitment, and willingness to share your gifts with our school and parish community. We would also like to thank Clara Fonti for her guidance in preparing the students. We are looking forward to many more performances.
