We have had a busy start to term 3 and have celebrated some very special events with our school and wider community.
Grandparents and Special People
On Friday 24th July, we celebrated all of our wonderful Grandparents and Special People. The students loved inviting them into our classrooms to complete activities. Thank you to everyone who joined us during the morning.
A special thank you to everyone who donated items for the morning tea and for all the parents who helped set up, serve and tidy up the morning tea.
Year 6 Confirmation
On Thursday 30th July, our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation which was conferred on them by Fr. Joseph.
Congratulations to our wonderful students who conducted themselves with reverence and respect, making the occasion truly special.
Religious Education Symposium
On Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd July, Mr Millar, Mr McGowan, Fr Justin and myself attended the inaugural Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Religious Education Symposium.
The theme of the symposium was “Inspired by Faith: Journeying to Excellence,”. This major event brought together nearly 1,000 teachers, school leaders, clergy and Religious Education professionals from primary and secondary schools for two days of inspiration, reflection and collaboration.
The symposium featured five world-leading keynote speakers, including Professor Brother David Hall FMS who reminded us that 'Education is not just about the teaching of a what, it’s about the growing of a who.' Over 50 collaborative workshops supported participants to explore new perspectives on Religious Education, faith formation, human flourishing and the future of Catholic Education.
The Symposium provided us with the opportunity to engage with the new RE Curriculum, ask questions and hold meaningful conversations with colleagues and other educational professionals. We left the symposium inspired, connected and renewed in our commitment to share our learning and strengthen our vision for excellence within our school.
