Caroline Chisholm Day – Celebrating Faith, Service and Community

One of the true highlights of our College calendar each year is Caroline Chisholm Day, a day that brings together our faith, our values and our commitment to serving others in a spirit of joy and generosity.

Inspired by the life and legacy of Caroline Chisholm, whose unwavering compassion and practical support transformed the lives of those most in need, our College community once again embraced the opportunity to make a difference for those who are marginalised in our wider community.

The day began with a whole-school Amazing Race, setting the tone with energy, enthusiasm and outstanding teamwork. As students moved through a series of engaging challenges, they were encouraged to reflect on how Caroline Chisholm's actions continue to inspire the values we strive to live each day at our College compassion, courage, service, justice and community.

Our liturgy provided a meaningful opportunity to pause and reflect on these values, reminding us that our faith is expressed not only in prayer but through our actions and the way we care for one another. As we are reminded in Scripture:

"Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18)

Living out these words, our students then celebrated together in the best way we know how - raising much-needed funds for those less fortunate through an incredible array of stalls, games and carnival rides. The generosity shown by our students, staff and families was once again a wonderful testament to the spirit of our College community.

The day concluded in spectacular fashion with our annual Lip Sync Battle, and I have to say, I believe this year's performances were among the best we have ever seen! The creativity, confidence, humour and house spirit on display perfectly captured the joy and vibrancy of our all-girls community.

Days such as Caroline Chisholm Day are about so much more than fundraising. They strengthen our sense of belonging, deepen our connection to our Catholic faith and College values, and remind us of the importance of using our gifts in service of others. They are a celebration of who we are as a College community.

On behalf of the College, I extend my sincere thanks to all our families for your generous support. Whether you donated items for stalls, purchased ride tickets or Caroline Chisholm tokens, or simply encouraged your daughters to embrace the spirit of the day, your contribution helped make the day such an outstanding success.

As we now conclude another busy and rewarding term, I wish all students and families a safe, restful and blessed holiday break. The holidays provide a valuable opportunity to recharge, spend quality time with family and friends, and return refreshed for another exciting term.

To our Year 12 students, I encourage you to make the most of the holiday period by maintaining a consistent study routine and attending the Holiday study sessions being provided to you. With Trial Examinations only a short time after we return in Term 3, these weeks present an important opportunity to consolidate your learning and prepare with confidence. Equally important, however, is ensuring you find the right balance between study, rest and wellbeing. Looking after yourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually will place you in the best possible position to return focused, resilient and ready for the challenges ahead.

May God bless each of our families with a safe and peaceful holiday, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 3.
