KLA Feature - Year 7

What an eventful term it has been for our Year 7 students. As they approach the end of their first semester of secondary school, there is much to celebrate and reflect on with pride.
In Week 8, Year 7 students participated in an engaging incursion, The Huring Game, presented by Brainstorm Productions. The dramatic role-play provided valuable insights into building resilience and healthy coping strategies, recognising signs of stress and anxiety, developing positive and respectful relationships, understanding the impact of online behaviour and digital reputation, and exploring the implications of Australia's social media age restrictions for young people, practising empathy, inclusion and self-compassion, and seeking support when facing challenges. Students were encouraged to continue these important conversations at home with their families. We greatly value our partnership with parents and carers in fostering a safe, respectful and supportive community for all students.
Last Monday, we formally inducted our Year 7 Student Leaders, who will play an important role in leading and representing their peers in 2026. All nominated students impressed us with their understanding of leadership, commitment to our College values, thoughtful ideas for strengthening our community, and enthusiasm in serving others.
We are delighted to introduce our 2026 Year 7 Student Leaders:
Gilmore: Diya Vinoth Kumar
Jackson: Georgia Heron
Kenny: McKinley Calder
Macarthur: Anureet Kaur Gill
MacKillop: Lucy Lenihan
Wright: Mikaiya Patuwai
Congratulations to all students who were nominated for leadership and to those appointed to these roles. We look forward to seeing the positive contributions they will make to our College community.
Last Friday, we celebrated our annual CCC Day. Year 7 students, alongside the rest of the College, enjoyed a day filled with celebration, community spirit and healthy competition. The Amazing Race showcased the enthusiasm, teamwork and determination of our students, with some impressive competitive talent on display. The day also included a College liturgy and a range of exciting activities, including bumper cars, carnival food, a haunted house and the highly anticipated Lip Sync Battle. It was wonderful to see our Year 7 students bring so much energy and positivity to the day.
We look forward to sharing our first Year 7 Formation Day next Tuesday 30/6. This valuable and intentional day provides students with an opportunity to pause, reflect, and strengthen their connection with themselves, one another, and God. Students are encouraged to organise a picnic lunch with their friends and are asked to dress in warm casual clothing for the day. Students will also need to bring their pencil case and something to lean on.
It has been a wonderful term for Year 7, and we thank our students, families and staff for their ongoing support. We wish everyone a safe and restful break and look forward to another successful semester ahead.
