Pathways

Congratulations to the 12 outstanding Year 11 students selected for the 2026/27 ACU Step Up Into Teaching program. Through this exciting partnership between CSPD and ACU, these aspiring educators will complete two first-year university units while exploring university life and developing the knowledge and skills needed for a future career in teaching. Their inspiring video applications showcased not only the qualities of great teachers - including care, empathy, creativity, passion and leadership - but also their genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. Before they step onto campus though, we asked them an important question: What makes a great teacher? Take a look at the video to meet these 12 incredible young women. We are incredibly proud of these outstanding students and have no doubt they will make a lasting and positive impact on the future of education.
Caroline Chisholm College is proud to feature in the newly released UNSW Step Up Playconomics promotional video, showcasing our Year 10 Commerce students and the outstanding achievement of 2025 graduate Sophie McLaughlin, who was crowned the 2024 Playconomics National Winner after finishing in the top 0.5% of students across Australia. We look forward to participating in the program again this year, with ten senior students preparing to compete in the latest Playconomics tournament!
Year 12 student Taylah recently completed the Introduction to Aviation Operations Microcredential, hosted by WSU through Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese, where she gained valuable industry knowledge and practical skills to support her ambition of becoming a cabin crew member. This experience builds on her previous opportunities with Qantas, including mentoring and a Cabin Crew Immersion Day, further strengthening her industry knowledge, confidence and career readiness. We thank CSPD, WSU and Western Sydney International Airport for providing this outstanding opportunity and supporting Taylah as she works towards her dream career in aviation.
Our hugely popular Lunch & Learn series has provided students with an outstanding opportunity to explore a diverse range of career and study pathways. They gained valuable insights into careers in nursing and allied health with Grant from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District; explored regional university life and admission pathways with Nikki from Charles Sturt University; discovered innovative study options and industry-connected learning at UTS with former College Captain Sofia Maiorana (Class of 2024); and learned about the personalised learning and hands-on experiences with Maddy from Torrens University. We also welcomed Kiri Armstrong from Endeavour Energy, who inspired our Year 10 and 11 students to consider careers in the electrical trades and highlighted the growing opportunities for young women in electrical apprenticeships. We sincerely thank all of our presenters for generously sharing their expertise and inspiring our students to explore the many exciting pathways available beyond school.
