College Captains Update

This marks the first College Captain Transparency Initiative, which we hope will
continue with future College Captain teams to ensure the community remains informed
about our work.
Over the past few weeks, the College Captains have been working hard to set ourselves
and the team up for success. We established our main SMART goal, which is to increase
student participation by fifteen percent in college events by improving the quality and
engagement of our events to deliver meaningful experiences for all students.
On the 17th of February, College Captains Sienna Davis, Dimitri Giazi, Aoife True &
Ashton Gomez along with SRC Leaders Niamh True and Leah Anzman, participated in
the World’s Greatest Shave conference in the city, hearing the stories of people
impacted by cancer and receiving advice on how to run a successful World’s Greatest
Shave Day event. Brighton Secondary’s event will be held on the 8th of May.
Furthermore, on the 3rd of March we attended the St Leonard’s Leadership Conference,
meeting other School Captains and hearing stories and leadership advice from key
speakers, across three themed sessions: The Source, The Impact, and The Ripple,
aiming to challenge our thinking on how leadership begins within ourselves, influences
others, and ultimately shapes the world around us.
