Senior sport

Sandringham College had three teams represented at the Kingston Divison senior winter competition; netball, AFL and badminton. All teams represented the college with pride and had fun. 

Year 7 & 8 Sport

Well done to all our junior teams who have competed this term. We thank you for your commitment to training and wearing the college sport uniforms with pride. A very special mention to the Year 7 Girls Soccer team who are the only team from Sandringham to go through to the Southern Metropolitan Region finals so far this year! These girls will compete again in August.

Cross country

We would like to congratulate the 50+ students who participated in the Kingston cross country event shown below.  The students gave it their best effort over the 3km and 5km courses. The college came equal second over-all from the eight schools in our division.

From this event 14 students from Sandringham College competed at the Southern Metropolitan Cross Country finals on Tuesday 25th June at Ballam Park. 

Jai Layfield, Aidan McCaffery and Angus Bunton came in the top 12 places for their ages and have made it through to the Victorian State finals!

Individual success

Sandringham College would like to congratulate Olivia Mitchell, of year 7, on her success at the Australian Gymnastics Championships. Olivia was selected earlier this year to represent Victoria as part of the State Gymnastics Team, competing as an U13 Tumbler within the international stream.  She achieved silver with a personal best score. She also represented Victoria in the Team tumbling competition and level 5 Double Mini Trampoline.

New equipment

Thank you to Grant at ETP Turf Professionals for donating the funds for our new college marquee. This marquee helps keep our students out of the rain and sun at events like Kingston division cross country.

Athletics carnival

The college held their annual athletics carnival on Thursday 6th June. We had a wonderful day in the sunshine, wearing our favourite team's jerseys and colours. The students had the opportunity to participate in track & fields events and our Student Leaders also introduced 'novelty events' for the first time. We had egg & spoon races, tug of war and musical statues. These proved to be very popular with staff and students alike! The student leaders also facilitated a BBQ which raised $434. These funds are going towards new AFL jerseys.

Interschools snowsport championships

The 2024 Snow Australia Victorian Interschools provides the opportunity for Sandringham College students to compete in skiing or snowboard events at Mt Buller. 

Competitors from all ability levels are encouraged to enter, with an emphasis on fun and participation.

The dates and events are as follows:

Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships - Monday 19th to 25th August 2024
