We believe that education is a collaborative effort, and we are grateful for the unwavering support of our parents and the wider community. Bookings are now closed, and your appointment schedule with your TEAMS link for your meetings has been emailed.  You can access your schedule and TEAMs link via the Parent Orbit App or Parent Lounge.

Marist Father–Son Reading Night

Our recent Father and Son Reading Night was a fantastic celebration of stories, imagination, and connection. Acclaimed author Tristan Bancks brought incredible energy and enthusiasm to the evening, captivating boys and their fathers, grandfathers, and father figures with his passion for reading and writing. Through engaging stories, practical insights, and plenty of humour, Tristan demonstrated the power of reading to inspire creativity and showed our boys how they can unlock their inner writer. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening that reinforced the joy of reading and learning together.

Year 10 English Monologue Masterclass

Kathryn Badini | Curriculum Leader - English, Literature and Languages

Last Monday, Year 10 English students were invited to participate in a Monologue Masterclass to support their study of Animal Farm by George Orwell, (unfortunately) an increasingly relevant novel. This year, students have the opportunity to respond to the text through either a Senior English persuasive speech or a Senior Literature interior monologue, which is a new genre to the boys and a tricky one as well.

The masterclass covered the key features of effective monologues, common, and strategies for crafting engaging responses. They also received practical advice on delivering spoken presentations. All very timely!

The session was a valuable learning experience for students and staff alike with English teachers attended in place of their regular meeting to also support this new initiative.

My sincere thanks go to Mr Damian Nelson, Mrs Jo Howe and Mrs Bonita Gerry who generously gave their time and expertise to make the event such a success.
