Walkathon and Battle of the Bands - Thank You

What a tremendous day on Sunday for the annual College Walkathon! A huge thank you to all the Parents & Friends who supported this event, in addition to the many family members who joined the walk or stayed for our Battle of the Bands competition. Thank you also to the staff who volunteered their time to ensure the event was a success. The Walkathon is one of the largest fundraising events in the College calendar and we deeply appreciate the funds donated by so many families. Donations can still be made across the next fortnight and we encourage you to make a contribution if you have not done so already.

The morning began with the cross country team running the course in very impressive times! Many enjoyed a leisurely walk after this (although the course through the Barracks has some sections that are certainly not leisurely!) So congratulations to all those who completed the 10km track. It was also wonderful to see participants take on the 4km all abilities course, especially many younger brothers and sisters who had come along to support a sibling on the day.

The Battle of the Bands competition saw some incredible talent on display, with some amazing cover renditions of well-known classics, in addition to some terrific original tracks. At the end of the session, Tyrone Noonan, multi-instrumentalist from the well-known Australian band George, presented the results, with Cooper Matthews Band finishing in third place, Copacetic finishing in second place and Dark/Matter taking out first place in this year’s Battle of the Bands. Thank you to all the staff, students and families involved in making this such a fantastic event.
