Celebrating Our Connect Leaders
We are proud to announce our two Connect Crew student leaders, Angus Dinnage and Mitch Callinan.
Both Angus and Mitch will be working alongside students across the Connect Crew, supporting projects, encouraging teamwork, and demonstrating the values we hold within the Connect Program. We are incredibly proud of their ongoing efforts and leadership.
Edenhope – The Horse Wisdom Program
Yesterday, a group of students had the opportunity to participate in The Horse Wisdom Program in Edenhope, an Equine-Assisted Learning experience designed especially for children and adolescents.
This program provides hands-on, social-emotional learning in connection with horses and nature. Through activities such as meeting the horse, observing the herd, grooming, leading, and even building an obstacle course to represent different emotional states, students learned valuable skills in emotional regulation, communication, mindfulness, and relational awareness.
They also explored how to make thoughtful choices that enhance personal wellbeing. Our students did a fantastic job caring for the horses and learning about confidence, grounding techniques, and teamwork. It was a rewarding and memorable day for everyone involved.
Crew 2 in Action
This week, Crew 2 have been hard at work on the following two important projects.
Garden Revamp
Half the crew focused on improving the garden near the theatre, ensuring it looked its best for opening night of the College Production. Students weeded and laid fresh mulch, transforming the space into a welcoming and vibrant area.
School Safety Markings
The other half tackled the yellow line repainting around the school. With teamwork, perseverance, and plenty of effort, they managed to get an impressive amount done.We can’t wait to see what all our groups will achieve over the next fortnight – the Connect spirit of dedication and teamwork is stronger than ever!
Templeton Tennis Club Trivia Night
The Connect Crew, in partnership with Templeton Tennis Club, proudly hosted their inaugural trivia night to raise funds for providing free tennis lessons to students at Wantirna College. The evening was a tremendous success, with enough funds raised to secure this valuable partnership for at least another year. A heartfelt thank you to Chris Jones, President of Templeton Tennis Club, for expertly MCing the night, and to Kylie Rackham for representing Wantirna College so wonderfully. We are excited to continue this partnership in the years ahead and look forward to many more memorable events together.
