BE BOLD, BE KIND, SPEAK UP
This week is an important week when schools are encouraged to unite behind Australia’s national Prevention Against Bullying week of action. At Wantirna College, we take a proactive approach to bullying and have held activities all week designed to get everyone involved and contributing to a culture of kindness and respect. We want every student to feel safe, seen and valued both inside and outside the classroom.

Subject Selections
In recent weeks, we have been supporting students and families in choosing subjects and pathways for next year. We spend considerable resources to ensure the Curriculum Handbook, Information Night, Pathways Counselling Interviews and Explore classes provide students with the best possible support in making informed decisions which will impact their futures.
Whether they are academically gifted and striving for a high ATAR score or following a VM pathway and starting a school-based apprenticeship.
we are committed to valuing all pathways and supporting students achieve the best possible outcome for them.
Every student is different and I’m confident that at Wantirna College, we have the resources, programs and opportunities to ensure that each student can be successful in whichever pathway choose.

Production
With much anticipation, our school production of Chicago: Teen Edition finally opened on Wed this week. And what an opening it was! The hours and hours of rehearsals that students and staff devoted to is evident in every aspect of the show and if you haven’t got a ticket yet, I suggest you book asap so you don’t miss out!
Parent/Carer Survey
Every year, staff, students and parents complete a Department of Education initiated survey to provide feedback about how our school is tracking. We highly value the feedback provided as it gives us insights into what the strengths of our school are and what areas we need to focus on to improve. I’m committed to leading our school to being the best we can be and give our students the educational opportunities they deserve. The survey link will be sent on Monday 18 August, when the survey opens.
Term 3 Parent Forum
Tue 2 Sep, 6pm Staff Lounge
Our focus for Term 3 is Facilities. This term we have seen the old gym demolished which raises the question of what that space will be used for.
We have completed other significant upgrades around the school and we invite families to come along to the parent forum, have a personal tour of the facility upgrades and contribute to discussions of possible future projects.
Please let us know if you would like to attend: https://forms.office.com/r/e6TB0QyJ4M
