STEM Art Showcase – Thursday, November 12
We are excited to invite families to our upcoming STEM Art Showcase on Thursday, November 12, where students from Foundation to Year 6 will not only share their amazing Art and STEM pieces, but also share their creativity, curiosity and problem-solving skills through the designs they developed during their Term 3 Science Inquiry learning.
This term, students will explore the exciting world of Natural Systems, developing an understanding that systems are made up of observable parts that work together to function as a whole. Through hands on investigations and inquiry based learning, students will discover how natural systems support life on Earth and how living things, Earth processes and space are interconnected.
Through the Inquiry, students explored the important role people play in natural systems, understanding that we rely on these systems for survival and that our everyday actions can positively or negatively impact the environment.
The Foundation to Year 2 students developed their curiosity about the natural world by observing, describing and comparing living things and their environments. They investigated the basic needs of plants and animals and explored how familiar objects and living things are part of simple systems. They have designed amazing habitats to display at our ART and STEM show.
Years 3–6 students deepened their understanding of natural systems by investigating how plants and animals interact and depend on one another. They also investigated how human activities affect natural systems. They designed pieces to show what they learned in this unit.
Our STEM Art Showcase will be a wonderful opportunity for families to celebrate learning across the school and see how students have combined creativity, design, inquiry, and problem-solving to bring their ideas to life.
We look forward to welcoming our families and celebrating our students' wonderful achievements, imagination, and innovation together!
