Year 4 News

Happy Week 4!

We are excited for our big week ahead!

A reminder: this Friday we have our Penola Discovery Day. We are very excited to take a look into what a day at Penola would look like! Students are able to wear their Sport Uniform on this day, and please remember to pack a snack!

Additionally, next week is also a long weekend; please remember that Monday is a school closure day. So we will see you back on Wednesday the 4th of November.

Lastly, we are very excited to welcome Miss Lilly, who will be joining us as a student teacher next week for the following four weeks. We look forward to having her in our classroom and supporting her throughout her teaching placement!

Save the date! Wednesday 18th of November

Wednesday 18th of November is our Year 3 & 4 Maths Games Day. This is such a fun and engaging day that Mrs Monaghan runs. As part of making this day run as smoothly as possible, we love the support of Parent Helpers. If you can come for some or all of the day, we would love to see you there! A note will be distributed soon, and this is where you can indicate if you would like to come and help on the day!

As writers, we are exploring the wonderful world of poetry! Students are experimenting with language, descriptive words and poetic devices to express their ideas creatively. We are developing our understanding of how poets use rhythm, word choice and imagery to communicate meaning and engage their audience.

As mathematicians, we are investigating three-dimensional (3D) shapes. Students are identifying and comparing the features of different shapes, including their faces, edges and vertices. We are using mathematical language to describe and classify 3D objects and explain our thinking.

As inquirers, we have continued to explore St Fidelis’ rich history for its centenary year next year. We have explored different artefacts while listening to and viewing different perspectives of the school days.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

Vicky and Bianka
